In our first year we all raised £6,403, in our second year £11,677, in our third year £24,318, which we thought would take some beating, so to raise £25,865 in year four which ended several months ago was just brilliant!
Thank you, and all our other supporters, for making these results possible.
As a consequence we have been able to fund countless activities and breaks for these deserving young people.Take another bow!

Bath Hilly Half Marathon

Picture
Earlier today saw the first ever Bath Hilly Half Marathon promoted by Rotary Club of Bath West and raising money for us.
A blustery autumn day saw 250 runners challenging themselves, running uphill and down dale, on Baths northern slopes.
Our picture shows Rotary President Barrie Crane and our very own Founder Trustee and Secretary, Gillie Fisher.
Thanks to all the runners and particularly to Rotary Club of Bath West for this fantastic support.

Top DJ booked for our charity disco!

Picture
Introducing Baths own Mr Cheese!

Yes, if you are going to hold a Boogie Wonderland Disco to raise money for young carers, there is no better choice than DJ Ian Sawyer.

Ian has over twenty years experience DJ-ing at nightclubs and venues in the Bath and Bristol area.  He is currently resident DJ at Bath's Moles Club's long running and extremely popular Big Cheese Night.Previous work has included running and DJing at the regular Resurrection night at Moles along with residencies at Discord (Babylon & Po Na Na in Bath, The Fez in Bristol and The Hub in Trowbridge), QT's, St. Christopher's Inn, Fusion, The Hub and The Swamp in Bath, along with appearances at Inferno and the Tropic Club in Bristol and Frome's Cheese & Grain.

All, no doubt, venues very familiar to you, and the scenes of some of your greatest triumphs! Who hasn't found themselves holding the wall up in Moles at 3 a.m., standing in a sea of lager and wondering how in heavens name you'd got  there? Having said that, of course, life moves on and our kids would now kill us if we were seen within 100 yards of the place!

Worry not. Come to our Charity Disco. Its safe! And you can throw some shapes to music you've heard of!

Also, you can just stand and talk if you want. Just don't waste the lager by dropping it on the floor!

Come on.  Friday 2nd December. Bath Rugby Clubhouse.Eight 'til late. £10 a ticket which includes ploughmans supper!(a bit more up market than the usual late night kebab!)

Just let us know you are coming so we get the right amount of food in!
Call 07717 152 997 or just send an email to jim@jimcronin.com, and say you're coming!

"Thank you for being a friend"

Picture
As all you pop-pickers know, this song, written by Andrew Gold, US writer and performer, reached the dizzy heights of no. 42 in the charts in October 1978!

"Thank you for being a friend,
Traveled down the road and back again,
Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidante.
And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew,
You would see the biggest gift would be from me,
And the card attached would say - Thank you for being a friend.."

Well, lets play it again in recognition of the recent generosity towards young carers shown by Bath 41 Club, Paul Clarkson, Barclays Wealth, Lloyd's Register and the congregation of Manvers Street Baptist Church. Thank you all.

" ...my hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow"

Island in the sun!

Picture
One of our friends generously donated a weeks stay at their prestigious beachfront Barbados property as an auction prize to raise funds for young carers. Our good friends at Friends of Young Carers, Swindon host a Ball each year and kindly agreed to include the item in their Charity Auction. To our delight, and theirs, the item raised £4000! (£1000 has gone to support Swindon Young Carers, and £3000 is for young carers here in Bath & N E Somerset).
A fantastic result and without doubt, the auction winners will be well rewarded also.
Our thanks to all concerned.
